The Toy.

This toy has caused huge bouts of frustration, tears, anger, and physical violence in our household. It either needs to go, or I need to find another. Here's the problem: Ella and Evan both consider this to be their favorite toy. Out of all the toys, they both choose this one to be the very best, in their eyes. It is constantly yanked from each other's hands and drooled on by both. Here's a little picture story of what happens and how this toy torments my precious little babies!

Ella's playing with the butterfly and Evan spots it from a distance and decides that he wants it...He sneaks up on Ella and snatches it from her grasp...
"What does he think he's doing?!"
Ella quickly retrieves the toy from Buddy's giant mitts...

... and so innocently, drops it to her side, "forgetting" that "someone else" wanted a turn!

Stinkers.

Uh oh. Sorry bout the toy arguing. This was one of Jaycee's favorites too and so that is why I bought it for ya when I learned you were expecting. Assuming this is the same one I bought you... Glad they are liking it. Babies R Us... has them. Or at least did.

Ahhh sharing!! It sucks in the twin world, let me tell you! The good news is that because they are basically BORN having to do it they will be better at it when they are two than singleton two year olds the bad news is it will feel like it takes FOREVER to teach them :)

I remember when the boys went toe to toe over a toy one day while I was on the phone with a friend. I complained that I needed to get another of that particular toy. She said "NO don't start doing that b/c they will never learn to share." I was annoyed and dealing with twin one year olds so I spouted back "That may work for you but it really doesn't apply to twins who don't understand what sharing IS yet". She got the hint b/c she called back and apologized. A part of me felt bad for speaking up for myself (b/c I usually don't) but I was also glad that I did.

The whole reason that I commented was to say buy two of everything for a while or at least similar items b/c they will want what the other has and from a SAHM who had to deal with it constantly it was SO nice to say "o.k. just let me go get the other one". It made my life easier and guess what??? They STILL learned to share! :)

Good luck and sorry I wrote a novel!
