Craft Room

I am so excited because I finally have a craft room! I slowly, but surely, arranged our spare bedroom into a space where I can scrapbook, do projects, learn to sew, whatever! It's so nice to have a space where I can lay out a lot of my stuff and work on things without having to pull it all out, and make a mess, only to stuff it back in drawers! It's not the nicest of places (kind of plain), but it'll work for me. It's right next to the babies' room so I can work on things while they're napping and still be able to hear them. Plus, this room gets LOTS of natural light (and was originally reserved as a nursery-- until we found out we were having twins), so I'm thrilled to hang out in there!

Here are some pictures of my newly transformed room... now, remember, it's still somewhat of a storage room so not everything looks so great (including the treadmill right next to my work station)! I do have great inspiration with pictures of my sweet babies hanging up though! =)

A desk that my parents had at their house that my dad would use to work from home on. They were nice enough to lend it to me so I could have some fun! =)
An old end table that has now become close-by storage by my desk.
A great ribbon/embellishment storage shelf that I got at Michael's with my 60% off coupon!
My workspace.
And here's another work area (with an old kitchen table!) that houses a lot of my papers/embellishments. I have yet to label the drawers, but they are organized! =)
Let the crafts begin!!! =)

Happy Heart Day!

We've had a great Valentine's day! We started off the 3-day weekend by traveling up towards Sacramento with my sister and brother-in-law to meet my brother and his girlfriend for dinner. They live in Davis so we don't get to see them as much as we'd like to (and I forgot my camera!!! :( ). We had a great time eating at The Cheesecake Factory out on the patio and then hitting the mall (I scored big at Janie and Jack and Baby Naartjie!). =) It was a great date night since my mom was nice enough to watch the babies all evening (without a time limit-- whoo-hoo!)!!!

This morning my sister's family came by and we had an awesome Valentine's breakfast, complete with pink, heart-shaped pancakes! The babies even had tiny Ella and Evan-sized pancakes which they LOVED! =)
Ella and Evan got a ton of Valentine cards (so many people love them!), including one from Grandma and Grandpa Pryor who couldn't be here to celebrate with us! They got some new books and a fun puzzle from mommy and daddy-- all were a big hit! Auntie had a special heart cookie made for them (which they have yet to sample- bad Auntie! ;) ) and cousin Kayli made some really cute cards for everyone.
We had a nice dinner spent with family at home (crowds are RIDICULOUS on this day!) and got to visit and play a lot.
We hope everyone else had an equally wonderful day! Happy Valentine's Day!
Ella and Evan playing with their new puzzle. They realize they need to go back on the puzzle, but not sure how to put back in exact spots yet... but they're tinkering around with it.

My beautiful flowers from my husband... he even spoiled me with some super cute Coach shoes!
Kayli-girl getting ready to feed the babies their heart pancakes!
Our pink, heart pancakes-- too cute!
They sure loved them!

I love that beautiful face!
My love.
Dinner table decorated.
Ella and Evan feasting on green beans and garlic bread-- pre-spaghetti meal! I let Bean and Buddy feed themselves spaghetti for dinner. It was messy, but not as bad as I thought it would be. They're not allowed to drop food over their tray so we didn't have a problem on the floor, we just had some REALLY messy faces and lots of clean-up afterwards! =)
Playing with the "dog-dog" after dinner! Couldn't have made Ella and Evan's day any better! =)

Grandma & Grandpa are home!!!

Well, they were for one night anyway, but we'll see them again for a couple of weeks starting on Monday! Ella and Evan (and us!) were happy to see them!

Tubs, cont.

Our passion for "tubbing" is going strong... =)

Ella wondering if it's her turn yet.
Trying to figure out how exactly to get out! =)
Thought he'd give the shoe box a try. It was a no go.
Quite proud of herself! Ella sitting sweetly in her tub, crossing her ankles.

And munching on some snackies too!

Our Words & More

I thought I'd jot down a quick post updating what the babies are doing/saying these days. I'm afraid that if I don't write it down now I will forget what age they did stuff!

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read books!!! And I'm thinking I need to hide some in order to keep variety and sanity in the household. =) Ella in particular loves the books that have pictures of animals and I have to say what they are and what sounds they make. It's cute because she'll watch my lips the whole time watching to see how I say them and sound them out. When the story is over she'll pick it back up and sign "more" to me... over, and over, and over again. =) Buddy likes to just point to pictures and have me say what they are. He is far less persistent than Ella, being low key about it all. His favorite sign by far is the one for "dog". If he hears me say dog or he sees one on t.v., he starts slapping his leg over and over again (which is the sign for dog). And, of course, he's still equally (if not more) persistent in the light department. That boy wants every light in every house house on ALL THE TIME! Oh my moose.

Evan doesn't "talk" much, or at least to what I'm used to in comparison to Ella. He'll jibber jabber, but I don't really notice a lot of consistent "words" for items. He does like to hold up a fake phone or any object and hold it up to his head and say "I" or "uh" for hi. It's really cute. Ella will take the phone and hand it to me to talk to and then take it back and put it right up to her mouth and ramble on. And on.

As for Ella's words, she will say mama, dada (or daddy), toes (sounds like "doughs"), dog-dog, duck (minus the "ck" sound). Those are very consistent words. They are both great at signing "more" and "all done". I just love watching them understanding what I say and communicating back to me. It just amazes me at how much they understand at this age. Most times (if they choose to oblige) they'll go and get whatever item you ask for (i.e. books, blankie, pacifier, etc.).

They're doing pretty well with drinking from a sippy cup and can both hold their own bottles (which I'm trying to phase out). Ella pretty much wants to hold her own bottle all the time, but I'll still end up holding Buddy's most of the time, just out of laziness I think. =)

They enjoy going bye-bye and walking with their walker. Climbing into storage tubs is the newest and greatest activity around here. They love to climb in and out and even eat their snacks in there. I need to get another one because while one is in it the other one is patiently (as patient as babies can be) waiting for them to get out and switch. (Pictures are in previous post).

We're having lots of fun with these little ones! Their giggles and antics keep us very entertained. Unfortunately, the babies have picked up a cold from somewhere--- UGH! I have no idea (well, maybe one) where they picked it up. Still can't figure out why people bring their kids to functions when their kids are plainly sick! Makes me want to scream! I had hoped to squeeze in a couple of play dates this week, but looks like it'll have to be postponed until next week! I'm missing my friends! :(

Movin and Groovin

I bought this walker toy for the babies a few weeks ago-- it was a HUGE hit! Evan, who has always been a bit more reserved, got right up to it and took off walking! He loves this thing! Ella, on the other hand, who is usually labeled our "dare devil", has just played with the toys and music on the front side of it while sitting... that is, until now! It is so funny to watch her walk with this thing! She screams and talks so much out of excitement. And she takes the tiniest steps, but super fast. It is SO funny!

So obviously, the babies are not walking on their own yet. I have been VERY happy with this situation. I am in NOOOOO hurry for them to start walking. Truthfully, I feel really sorry for those parents who have children walking really early (you know, the ones at like 9 months)-- yikes! And it makes them seem so much more grown-up. I want to keep my babies, babies for as long as I can (no offense anyone!). :( So Ella and Evan, you can take your sweet time learning to walk-- mommy doesn't care O-N-E bit! =)

And she's off!
Buddy trying to catch her!
Evan wondering why sissy has decided to start playing with what he thought was his toy! :(

GO BEAN!

Tubs

Ella and Evan were playing with this very inexpensive plastic container that I had purchased to organize blocks. They enjoy putting things in (and out) of it and closing the lid. Last night Evan was playing with it when Ella came by and decided that she wanted to play with it! Surprise, surprise. Evan has been getting really frustrated with her taking things away from him so he decided to take matters into his own hands-- by climbing into the tub and sitting in it! It was HILARIOUS! I love how the tub is bowing and flexing! I couldn't believe he did it or chose it as a suitable solution. Ella was still trying to get it (see below), but was unable to move the moose in the tub. The whole time I couldn't help but sing a variation of the Tommy Boy song, "fat guy in a little tub" over and over. Greg and I were cracking up! What a silly boy we have! =)

All Fun & Games

We've been having lots of fun playing (even though we're cooped up inside!). We have found many fun things to play with!

Such as the sliding glass door-- yum! Two (non-breakable) bowls to slide on!
Invading the "to-go" toy bag!
The mommy jungle gym!

The remote (not pictured) =)
Falling into mommy's lap and trying to "get her"! =)

Smiles and laughter!
Diggin' in our toy basket.
Can't forget our milk break!
So many blocks, so little time!
Ah, the remote! This is Buddy's remote. It was our old cable remote that the cable guy let us keep before we switched over to satellite. Daddy doesn't let them play with any other remotes! :(
Looking very innocent.
Bringing and showing me a piece of the remote that broke off. Again.
And, of course, LOTS of snuggling! =)
