New Hat

I was shopping at Gymboree last weekend (one of my favorite stores!) and I saw this hat and had to get it for Evan. There's an outfit that goes with it, but this was just to try it on. I love this hat because it reminds me of the hat that my Great-Grandpa used to wear all the time. I'll always think of him when I see this hat.

Looking forward to Spring!

I love gardening, but since I was pregnant last year during Spring and Summer (and being SO sick!) and now having the babies here, I haven't been able to get out and plant much. Yesterday, though, I got out of the house and took some pictures of some of the things that are blooming now. I can't wait for Spring!

A Monkey for a Monkey

Evan just LOVES his little monkey blanket! I noticed that when I am holding him he loves to bury his face right into me and always wants 'comfort'. Well, I figured out a way that helps a lot of the time to give him comfort without him needing/wanting me to hold him all the time (notice I said "a lot of the time"- NOT all the time!). He holds on to it tight and buries his face in it... it's so cute! =)

Fun Pics!

A little bit of smiling from Ella-bean!
Evan with Grandma!
Evan showing us how to hold his bottle! Actually, he's just worried we might take it away from him! He pulls it tight when we take it away to burp him. Silly boy.

Ella wanted to sit on the couch and hang out with Daddy so we got creative and made her a seat- she loved it! =)

We finally got some pictures of The Bean in the tub... no smiles in these shots, but still super cute! =)

Big Boy standing up- what a strong boy!Thought this was a funny picture because it looks like the SNL cheerleaders saying, "Call me!" =)

Hanging out...

...with Grandma and Grandpa! =)

Feeding Time

Here's a little trick that my friend Amanda taught me. It's so helpful now that I'm home alone during the day and having to feed two hungry babies at the same time. I just sit right in front of them and hold the bottles, but prop them under a blanket when I need to burp one of them. It works pretty well!

Our First Night

The babies have been doing really well with not having a feeding in the night any longer, so I decided to bite the bullet and see how it would go if they slept in their room. Happily, the babies did great! I was so nervous and didn't sleep much because I felt the need to go in and check on them all the time for the first part of the night (even though I had the monitor on and didn't hear anything... that, itself, is probably what made me want to check!). So the babies had their feeding at 10:30 p.m. and then I fed them again at 7:45 this morning. I had to play a little bit of pacifier patrol this morning around 6:45 occasionally, but they did it! Hopefully, this will keep up, but it appeared that they liked their little nursery that Daddy and I put together for them! =) Now all we need to do is work on eliminating that 10:30 p.m. feeding!!! =) One step at a time...
Here they are in their crib this morning when I went to get them (actually, this is Ella's crib, but they're sharing for the time being! =) )

Mr. Hot Stuff

I think the picture explains itself! =)

Splish Splash

Now that the babies actually like their baths, I decided to snap some shots. I only got some of Evan during his bath because Ella-bean was still upset that we decided to take her band-aid off after her shot that day! :( So here's our nakey boy! =)

Here we are in the laundry room. I have to be careful to keep a certain 'part' covered up because otherwise the roll of paper towels above somehow gets soaked! =)

2 Months Old!!!

Well, the babies are now 2 months old (as of yesterday)! I can't believe it. They had their 2 month check-up today so Greg, the babies and I had to brave the yucky weather and bring them in to town. We had an appointment with a new doctor that our friend Nancy recommended. We really liked him and it was really easy to talk to him and ask questions. AND he's a big fan of emailing so I loved him even more! =)

The babies are doing great. They are both measuring 23 1/2 inches long and both are in the 75th percentile in everything. But their weights are what shocked me the most... Ella weighs 11 lbs. 8 oz. and Evan is a whopping 12 lbs. 4 oz! What little chunks! =) The doctor seemed very happy with their progress. The babies had some vaccinations today, but not all that Kaiser considers routine. Greg and I are HUGE advocates for the vaccines, but we (more I) get concerned and sucked in to all the hysteria of vaccinations possibly being linked to autism. We really don't believe that the two go together, but decided that we'd spread the vaccinations out for peace of mind. Our doctor was very understanding and respectful of our wishes. We were so glad to hear it because we hear of people that need to find new doctors because their doctors drop them as patients. The down side of spreading out the vaccines is that we need to go in more often and the babies have to get pricked more (We're following the alternative schedule round in The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears). Getting more shots are not so fun, but I'd prefer to ere on the side of caution. Speaking of getting 'pricked', Ella cried when she got hers, but I was able to calm her down fairly quickly (although she cried again when we took off the band-aid right before her bath tonight!), but Evan didn't cry at all. Greg said that he's a tough guy... and he is. =) Luckily, neither of them are fussy due to the shots. We gave them a dose of Tylenol right before the appointment just as a precaution.
Here are some pictures of the babies at 2 months old! =) Notice the super cute onesies that Grandma Kim made for the babies... Evan's little choo choo train and Ella's princess dress!
Ella rubs her eyes when she gets sleepy... SO cute!Ella always turns her head and cuddles in to her brother! =)Funny Boy!

All Smiles

The babies have been smiling for some time now, but catching it on the camera is a different story! Here's a few pictures that I was able to capture of Evan while sitting in his bouncer that Auntie Sondra gave him! =)
