I did something today that I hadn't ever done before... I nursed both of my babies AT THE SAME TIME!!! It wasn't easy, but not as hard as I had always feared it would be.
I was holding Ella and she wanted to nurse so I put her on, but then Evan decided that he was hungry and/or wanted 'comfort' as well. I had both of them in my arms and I asked the babies if they thought I could feed them both at the same time. I just decided that I would give it a shot and if it didn't work then no one was there to see me fail- haha. With a little work and adjusting of the babies, I was successful! Obviously, I don't have a picture (because that would be weird) and then I didn't have any extra hands to do so either. It was the most wonderful thing to have both babies nursing at the same time. They would take turns looking up at me and I watched them immediately become comforted. It just felt right. When Ella finished nursing she laid her head on me and looked up with the biggest smile and then began to talk to me. I loved it because I have two babies, but unfortunately, it's pretty difficult for me to hold both of them at the same time right now being home alone with them. I like the individual time I have with them, but love the idea of the three of us being together.
Not sure if I'll be able to keep this up (perhaps I need to get the EZ 2 Nurse pillow I've heard about?) because it was difficult getting them positioned with just one boppy pillow. We'll see. But I'll want to do this more often.
