We're TWO!!!

Crazy, crazy, crazy, but my little Bean and Buddy just turned TWO!!! My how time flies (and we're having lots of fun too!)! Honestly, I don't even know how to update on them because it's been so long since I've shared all their fun-ness! But that's exactly what they are: FUN! The things they do, the things they say, the looks they give... it's all fun (with the exception of a pathetic tantrum or two! ;)

Let's see if I can give you a quick update about our little ones...

Ella:
*our first born, and feisty one! She's tiny, but mighty! Really. She's stubborn, dramatic, and sneaky, but the love-iest, kindest, sweetest little girl. Greg has made many a comparison between me and Bean.

*her favorites include: giving TONS of kisses, her blankies, MONKEY, mommy, blocks, puzzles, and books, Yo Gabba Gabba, bagels, cups with straws, dancing, talking, saying "cheese" for a picture, still carry a BAZILLION things at once (she gets that from me!), building a nest in the bed, organizing their cupboard, loves to hold hands when walking or in the car, being chased and doing "no more monkeys, jumping on the bed" before nap time and bedtime.

*is average for height and weight according to their 2 year check-up. Dr. thinks she'll be around 5'7"/5'8" tall. That seems short to me since I'm pushing 6' and Greg 6'2", but I didn't really like being tall growing up so I tend to like that she won't ever be called The Jolly Green Giant, or any other annoying attempts at a tall joke.

*didn't start walking until about a 1 1/2 old!!! She would take little steps when no one was watching, but would smile and fall down as soon as someone saw! Stinker. My babies were very cautious and waited a while to walk, but once they walked, they NEVER fell. They say that there personalities show up in these types of things. It's true for us because E & E are cautious about everything they do.

*is very smart (but what mother doesn't think their child is!). She can put any puzzle together in a split second (even if it's new to her), build sky-scraper block buildings, count, and loves to read her books, telling you everything on the page.

*is reserved. If the doorbell rings, she's rather just sit and finish her book, puzzle, or blocks. Buddy, on the other hand.... we'll get to that! ;)

*likes to take off her clothes (and occasional diaper!!!) during nap time and tell you "no, no" as soon as you walk through the door! Arrrgh...

*and loves her mommy and daddy! As soon as I walk into their room in the morning, she shouts out, "Dada at work!"... followed by, "mama kiss". And if Daddy happens to go in and get them she yells, "Mama show" since Greg had them a couple of days in a row while I was working at a craft show.

Evan:

*my baby boy, that can melt my heart in a second. He's our little trickster, always pulling some kind of prank or joke (as much as a 2 year old can, but he does!). He is DEFINITELY a Greg Jr.!!! The things he says and does is so much like him! Like I need TWO Greg's in this house-- haha! ;)

*his favorites include: sleeping, PRETENDING to sleep (lies down on couch or bed and wants to be covered up-- feet included, and he closes his eyes up TIGHT!), laughing, running "fast", flashlights (and any other household/exterior light), music, dancing, trucks, cars, moon and stars, hats, water (making sure the fountain is always on and plants get watered), sitting and typing at the computer, Elmo (better yet, Mr. Noodle), TALKING!!!, smiling, holding the door open for mommy, feeling cups to feel the "cold", talking on the phone, his Papa's, being outside, and going "bye, bye".

*is ALL BOY, rough-and-tumble! He likes to run, play swords, fall down on purpose... he's very busy!

*is VERY social! I can't take him anywhere without him "charming" someone... seriously. But both of my babies don't like it when mommy leaves... this is true for date night (we sneak out) and church nursery. They warm up fine, but melt down for a minute or two first.

*took a while to start talking a bunch, but you can't stop him now. He talks all day long! ALL.DAY.LONG. And it would be okay, but he wants acknowledgement and will continue to say what's on his mind until you repeat or acknowledge him. He's happy then! =)

*is smart. He's much quieter about it than Ella, but always surprises us with "all of a sudden" counting, words, and things we told him a few days ago about today's events. We call him our elephant for remembering EVERYTHING! =) And it cracks me up how they use possessives and they use the word "too" all the time... (i.e. "mama silly too") ;)

*is above-average for both weight and height. The doctor says that he'll definitely be over 6' tall (and probably a football player too-- haha!)

I'm sure there's a million other things to update on, but you get the idea. I'll be posting some pictures of their birthday soon (had to use my sister's camera since I forgot to charge my battery before the party!!!).
