Our Mini Vacation!

This past weekend we made a trip down to San Luis Obispo. It has been one of our favorite spots to go for vacation because the weather is absolutely gorgeous! It's so nice to go to a beach that's warm unless, of course, you want to visit the yucky, over-crowded beaches in So. Cal. This was the first trip for the babies and we had a great time. Actually, on a whim, we ended up staying an extra day! We left after the babies' feeding at 6:30 Friday night so that we wouldn't have to stop and feed. Plus, the babies could just sleep the whole time. We stopped one time to switch drivers and put blankies on the babies. When I looked back I noticed that Ella was awake and so I gave her a kiss. I then "smelled" something and realized that she had a poopy diaper. Figures. She never poops at night. It was freezing outside, but we pulled her out and I changed her in the front seat. It was very awkward, but we got the job done and she went right back to sleep! The babies were awesome on this trip and slept anywhere we put them and functioned incredibly well on missing parts of their naps-- what good babies we have!!! Greg and I talked about getting a time share down there (maybe some friends would like to go in with us-- Jeff & Sam??? haha) so we could stay a bit longer and right on the beach.

Saturday night is usually our date night and so Greg's parents offered to watch the babies for us that night so we could go out and about San Luis. They also offered to just keep the babies overnight at their place so that we could have the whole night to ourselves. I was really nervous about the thought of leaving them up until we actually did it, but we did! I missed them TERRIBLY, but once I fell asleep I did okay. When we woke up the next morning, Greg and I both were really anxious to go and see them! Greg's parents even watched the babies for a bit during their nap on Monday so that we could go shop around town. By the time we left the babies on Saturday night and got some dinner, most of the shops had closed up so we weren't able to shop. Thanks Bob and Carmen! =)

Here's some pictures of the fun time we had! =)

Bean and Buddy playing in the hotel while Mommy finished getting ready!
Grandpa Bob on the beach
Miss Bean in her vacation dress!
Evan, Grandma, and cousin Capri playing in the sand

Oooh! It was kind of windy right by the water!
We LOVED putting our toes in the sand! I think we're beach babies like Mommy!

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Even Daddy came out for a few pictures! =)

Tiny girl's sandy feet!
Ella was getting tired so I thought she'd like to nap in their "shade cave"--- didn't happen!

Cousin Capri playing with a little girl named Ella

Grandpa and Ella

Evan sitting in a "big" chair (high chair) at The Cliffs brunch! Seriously the best place EVER for brunch... awesome food and right on the beach... beautiful!
Princess Teenie-Tiny liked it too!

I was lucky enough to be able to pull out this dress again for the last time I'm sure!

Playing around...

Getting ready to eat...

It was a little cool in the shade, hence the hat and hood!
Grandma and Ella-bean
Grandpa and Evan... notice Evan's super cute beach attire!
Family shot
Mommy trying to get babies to look at camera... yah, it doesn't work so well! And notice Bean's belly hanging out...
All cozy going for a walk around the cliffs... Buddy fell asleep right after this picture...
Wonderful views!

Playing at the park

Ella and Evan both like grass! For some reason I thought that babies didn't like it!? Well, these two do for sure! haha =)

Mommy and Ella... I used to be so good at the one-handed picture taking. hmph!

And Buddy taking a sip of Grandma's water!

Glad to hear the mini trip with the two went so well! Looks from the pictures like you all had a great time! I'm sure future trips will involve chasing them around to keep them from running out into the water. So fun! :)
