Book of Prayers

Ella and Evan got the cutest set of books from their Great-Grandma Joy for their birthday. I'm absolutely in love with the Book of Prayers one right now! It is so sweet and so age-appropriate for the babies. They really like to participate in praying for our meals now, holding their hands together. Ella has one hand laying on top of the other and Evan intertwines his fingers. =)

If you're "in the market" for a book like this I really endorse this one (plus, it's one of those ones that are thick and can survive baby drool, small wars, etc.). It's called My First Read and Learn Book of Prayers, by Dr. Mary Manz Simon (by Scholastic). It's very sweet. They have prayers for just about everything... Valentine's, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, nap time, moving, sick, new baby, birthday, morning, evening, mealtimes, spring, summer, fall... you name it, they've got it! I was going to post a picture of Ella and Evan ready to pray, but I forgot during the chaos of getting dinner to the table, etc. so I will post one later!

I'll leave you the Valentine's prayer for those interested in using it with your little ones...

I see the hearts and flowers,
The world looks red and pink.
It's time for hugs and kisses,
But this is what I think:

I know, God, that You love me.
I always count on You
Please listen as I whisper,
"Dear God, I love You, too."

I love how simple this is. It warms my heart and it will surely bring a smile to God's face when he hears His children repeat this. Precious. Thank you Great-Grandma Joy!
