Poor Buddy!

My poor little Buddy has an ear infection. Yesterday afternoon he felt a little warm, but later on in the day he felt super hot. I took his temperature and it said 101.1*. I freaked out because this was an hour after we had given him a dose of Tylenol. We decided to call the advice nurse and see if there was anything to do. After the nurse spoke to the ER doctor, she advised us to bring him in and have him checked out, seeing how he's so young. He was really pathetic all day and last night was no exception; he just sat there in my arms and whimpered. :( I couldn't help but cry. I never thought they would get sick. I've tried so hard to keep them well... keeping them away from sick people, giving them my antibodies in breast milk, and so on. I'm so frustrated.

So the doctor checked his temperature at the ER (rectal!) and it was 100.8*. After looking him over he noticed that one of his ears was a little darker than the other. He informed me that this was the age when they can start getting ear infections (boy, we didn't waste any time!). I don't really think that he would have prescribed anything with the degree of infection, but decided that it would be best to start him on antibiotics because we had another baby at home. I know there are many times ahead of us for sickness, but I just didn't think it would happen so soon!And then going to the ER (germ city!) freaked me out even more. Thankfully, there was only a few people in there and we sat on our own.

So in the mean time, Evan is getting doses of antibiotics, Tylenol, ear drops, and frequent loves from Mommy. That should fix him up real soon! Please pray that he gets better soon and that Ella doesn't fall ill, too!
