I've been really worn down lately. I went into motherhood being totally exhausted and sleep deprived so managing two babies around the clock has not cured that department. I've been battling the baby blues, but hoping that I'll be able to shake it soon. I know that the yucky weather and little sleep that we get doesn't help. We're so lucky to have a lot of family support to come help out during the day though.
I'll have to share the whole birth story sometime soon, but thought I'd just briefly update everyone for now. Ella and Evan are doing well. The appear to be gaining weight just by looking at them, but also by the scale that we have at home. We go to the doctor's tomorrow so we'll be able to get a better picture on how they're doing. Ella had a hard time with her feedings at first because she had jaundice (supposedly it makes them very sleepy and lethargic). We had to take her back for a third testing shortly after we came home with them because her levels had gone up. Thankfully, her numbers went down and she's now able to eat better. As tiny as she looks, she can sure pack the food away. We call her Princess Teenie-Tiny because she looks so small. She makes a million little grunts and noises when she eats and when she wakes up. It's so cute. Evan is a cutie with his chubby cheeks. He cracks me up because he always looks so skeptical of everyone. He decides he isn't going to move his head and looks around with just his eyes. When it comes time to eat and/or change his diaper he becomes VERY impatient. He gets so mad and acts as if we're torturing him. I'm sure I'll be embarrassed out of my mind when the time comes to change or feed him in public. Silly boy.
Here are some pictures of the little ones. We have more pictures on our other camera, but I need to get Greg to help me transfer them to my computer. Hopefully these will do for now... =)
I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year! Many blessings for 2009!
Here's a picture of Ella and Evan all snuggly in the hospital... so sweet!
All comfy at home in their pack n' play...

I was equally excited and relieved to see your updated blog today. Glad things are going o.k. Hang in there with the blues. You'll get through it and things will get better! :) Those little ones are soooo cute! Jaycee has loved seeing the pics too.
Congratulations Kari! The twins are beautiful and look so healthy! The first few weeks are the hardest, but some of the most memorable moments you'll ever cherish. Have lots of fun and make sure you have mommy and baby moments...just sit and watch them. Evan and Ella are true blessings to your family. Thanks for sharing!
